This is a broad based field experience offering an opportunity to see a large variety of geological features first hand as they occur in the National Parks Region of Utah and Nevada's Basin and Range to Colorado Plateaux area. Some of the features that will be studied during this field experience include: alpine glaciation, large scale lacustrine sedimentation and geomorphology, igneous stock with metamorphic halo, regional metamorphism and crustal extension, volcanic caldera and explosive volcanism, lava flows, roll over thrush faulting and crustal shortening, ancient and modern sand dunes, and major regional unconformities. There will also be an introduction to field mapping.
