ESL students will have the choice of applying for on-campus housing or Homestay* housing where the student stays with a local Cedar City family, or an off-campus apartment. SUU policy is that Traditional-age (18-20 years of age) English as a Second Language (ESL) students are required to live in University Housing or with a HomeStay* family during their first year if they meet the following criteria:
Cost: $1,250 each *7-week term. Students pay $625 per month and must agree to an 8-week contract to enter the program. (There is a $50.00 fee for each placement). The family provides food, transportation, and a room. Students are encouraged to interact with the family as much as possible to enrich the experience and enhance English mastery. Families are encouraged to make the student as much a part of the family as possible. Homestay inquiries can be made with September Lutterman at 435-586-7853 or lutterman@suu.edu.
