Non-Course Population Form

Dear SUU Employees;

We have been seeing an increase of inquiries from departments/organizations in using CANVAS for a Non-Course application. We here at SUU Online are more than happy to support Faculty and Staff with practical applications. To standardize and centralize these requests, SUU Online has developed the following submission form. Other submission formats, such as individual email or letters will not be acceptable.

Faculty cannot use this form to have students added to there Banner created shells. Such requests will be denied, as Banner only handles those enrollments.

This form is designed primarily:

  1. identify the non-course facilitator,
  2. identify the non-course shell, and
  3. grant/remove Participants (SUU Employees/Students -individuals with an active mySUU useraccount) access into the shell.

Keep in mind that all of this is manually done by SUU Online. With the amount of work we have at our end, please be thorough and correct with your information. Incorrect information will be rejected.

Please complete the entire form, paying particular attention to the format examples provided. A separate form should be submitted for each shell.

If you do not have a non-course shell, contact SUU Online before using this form, to clarify the purpose of the shell.

Thank you for your assistance and patience as we set this up. If you have any questions I can be reached at online@suu.edu or (435) 865-8555.

Regards,

SUU Online Administrators

Instructions

  1. Complete ALL of the following form fields to grant/remove CANVAS access of individuals (Participants) into your non-course shell. One form (per non-course shell) may be used to grant access to multiple individuals. Again, non-course shells must exist for this action to be performed.
  2. Please pay particular attention to the submission format listed for each field. This will assist SUU Online in providing timely access to the appropriate shell.
  3. The SUU Username of the submitter will be maintained for verification purposes.
  4. Questions may be referred to SUU Online at online@suu.edu or (435) 865-8555.

NOTE: This form request will be distributed to SUU Online. We anticipate that we will be able to provide access by the next business day- with the exception of delay due to the starting of a new semester.
