Re:  Service-Learning Fellow Awards, Spring 2009

Service-Learning is a curricular-based educational experience in which students participate in organized activities that meet community needs and then reflect upon their experiences, tying them to course content, a broader appreciation of their discipline, and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility.

Who: The purpose of this award is to recognize engaged educators who practice service-learning in an effective manner.  If you use service-learning as a way to enhance the education experience in any of your classes, then you are eligible and encouraged to apply.

What: Five Service-Learning Fellows each will be awarded $750 and be honored at the Annual Student-Faculty Scholarship Day in April 2009.

When: The application deadline is Friday, March 6, 2009, at 5 PM, with notification in early April 2009.

Where: Please submit applications to the Earl Mulderink, Faculty Coordinator of Civic Engagement, in care of AD 303 D, or submit electronically to mulderink@suu.edu.  Questions can be directed to Earl by email or phone (865-8076).
