GHA Bloggers of the Day:

What were your expectations about GHA?

"When I first heard about GHA, I didn't really know what I expected. I think I thought it would just be like school again... classes to attend, notes to take, and assignments to turn in. However, since I didn't really know what to expect, I decided to get on the website and look at the pictures and blogs from last year. What I found kind of surprised me. People looked like they were having fun in every picture. After that, I just expected GHA to be fun; and it has been thus far."

-Heather Young, participant

"There's only one word to describe my expectations for GHA: 'Met!' Everyone is so great about getting to know each other and getting along! We're all in the same boat, let's not sink it! Everything is very well organized, and our counselors are loaded with advice and kindness. Everything is fun and hunky - dory. I've loved all the speakers thus far. They've really got the bar set for us, and are motivating us to go above and beyond it. From here, I expect good times, smooth sailing, and an unforgettable experience!"

-Sara Lafollette, participant

"I expected GHA to be amazing, but I didn't understand how amazing the people really would be. Everyone I meet has such a light. I LOVE GHA!"

-Heather Sundblom

After 20 hours is GHA what you thought it would be?

"No, I didn't think that the activities would cover such a large area of learning & thinking. I expected to mostly just sit and listen to lectures."

-Ben Lister, participant

"No way, I thought I would be surrounded by people who would just want to study all day and play chess. I was wrong. We all want to have fun. It's been amazing."

-Jon McNaughton, counselor

"When I first came I thought I might be bored. As time has gone on though, I have looked forward to each activity! It has been very fun, and I have made lots of new friends."

-Ryan Moore, participant
