Hello everyone and welcome to the GHA message board. A few bits of information about the board. I'll be archiving each weeks worth of messages for the first little while and then monthly. We'll be adding a password to the message board in the next week. But we'll make sure you all have the info you need before we add it. [This will prevent spamers from taking over our message board]. Go check out the alumni page and give us your contact info. Please be careful about what information you tell us to put on the website. We want to keep you safe. We'll be sending out a letter next week with a bunch of info so watch for that - I think we'll be announcing the date for the GHA reunion. I hope you all know that I think you are awesome and I'm missing you already! Keep smiling and when you feel those GHA withdrawals, just know you can anyone of 63 new friends. Hey guys. I think only Natalie Hatch knows me, since she's my neighbor, but I went to GHA last year, and I just want to tell you to never EVER lose the GHA spirit. It is amazing, and it has changed my life, as I'm sure it has yours. Keep in touch with each other, and keep on using the message board--all of you. Good luck in life and never forget all of the good memories and life lessons. Go GHA!

WOW! Am I the only one who hasn't posted anything yet? Apparently! Well, it's Sunday and I've finally made it home! Friday we left to go to the Tuachan for my Dad's B-day. We saw Cinderella! Whoo! We stayed over night in a hotel, and made it home Saturday night. But even then, I didn't feel "home." Geeze, time went by fast. I miss everyone so much! It was incredible how nice everyone was. I could tell when I was "home" again. I swear I didn't have to open a single door with all the boys around GHA. As soon as my parents picked me up, I got a door in the face by my brother...Ouch. That's a wake up call. Well, I miss you all loads. Keep in touch!

Hey everybody. I had withdrawals almost immediately after GHA was over, and to make matters worse, I stayed in southern Utah until just today, without any internet access. I am so looking forward to the reunion. I was looking at the pictures, and wow, we have a bunch of them. My contact info is correct (my home phone is on there, so don't text) and I would give out my cell, but I don't have texting on my plan. As soon as I get texting, I will try to put my cell on. See you all at the reunion!

wow scott you have more will power than me i went straight to bed after i got home at like 3am . The fourth is going to be kinda awkward cause this is the first one i wont be watching fire works... stupid work... anyway i guess its whats to be expected for getting a ten day vacation anyway you guys dont blow your selves up that would make me cry. You can do it at your own pace with no one yelling at you or laughing, and then getting punished =) I miss you all to death, and I wish time would go by quicker so I can see you all at the reunion! It's weird being home, I'm not sure if I like it yet haha. I miss everyone always playing sports during our free time. Still dissappointed we never got to soccer haha =P.

Hi Everybody! I totally went through withdrawls, but my mom and sister said the best way to get rid of them is to keep busy. This is my first few free moments, but I'm leaving for a family reunion in like an hour and a half. I absolutely miss all of you!!! Don't think Brad stoker is crazy, because he really is cool (he's the one who told my GHA even exsisted). Has anyone heard how Kalli is lately? and Where is Kate Merkley? I also haven't seen Quinn, CJ, Cody, Sherstin, Liz, Cassidy, Dave, Juliann... I mean seriously, it only takes like a minute!! Love You all a bunch!!! And have fun in Europe!!

Jared just informed me that you all can now get online and apply to SUU for Fall 2008...remember you need to do that to be eligible for your sweet scholarship to SUU. It you have any questions of how to do that let me know! 2nd of all...I hope you all had a marvelous 4th of July! Mine was spectacular...I spend the majority of it in (believe it or not) the scorching heat of St. George, UT! Don't you love fireworks? I always feel like a little kid watching them, and everything in the world feels right during those moments. Well, I hope everyone is having a great week! Well I dont mean to be negetive this is supposed to be a happy place but my 4th of july sucked hard core except till the end. I slipped at work and cut my arm open so i have huge gash in my arm I missed the parade/fireworks/festivities and I missed steak... BUT ALL IS NOT LOST!!!!! I got to help a friend who was sad which i guess kinda makes up for the bad stuff. Anyway good thing i dont work that hard today. Anyway peace out ghaers

Sorry Cameron about your horrible 4th of July experience. Mine was fantastic, mostly because my English relatives are here, and the Parowan City does fireworks in my backyard so that I have a front row seat every year. Anyways, I hope you all had fun. So I am helping out with a youth conference at SUU, and much to my surprise who do I run into, none other than Audrey Call! I really don't know how I survive without you guys. Yesterday, my family and I went an a hike, and I kept missing Maddi because it was sooo pretty and she takes amazing pictures. Ahhh... the wonders of being home. My family just got back from a straight drive from Olympia, Washington--That's about 14 hours in a car with my whiney little sister. :P sorry about the boredom, Brad. I can't really wait, because i'm leaving for another week away from home. Okay Skye, my 4th of july was also spent in a car, finihing the trip to washington. But then, my cousin told us about this great fireworks place on an Indian Reservation. The Fireworks were amazing, but that's because there are no regulations on fireworks on "the res." Hello everyone! I want EVERYONE to know I miss you all! Thanks for keeping in touch! So my story of the day...I just realized that I stepped in dog poop sometime this afternoon, (I wish someone would have taken the initiative and picked it up, cause I didn't see it!) and you know when you step in dog poop it makes you want to be in a bad mood? Well I decided to have a positive attitude about it...I can't quite think of something good that would come with stepping in dog poop...but at least I am still smiling! SO I just wanted to let one and all know, I am headed up to Salt Lake Thursday through Saturday, and have already chatted with Scott and Bree about meeting up. We don't have a time or place yet...but anyone who can please come Thursday night! (I'm not even sure what we are going to do, we'll come up with something!) So give let me know and I will keep you all updated. Also, I have been in Cedar ever since GHA, and I have no idea why us Southern Utahns haven't gotten together! So lets work on that!! I had an amazing youth conference, but it was Interesting to say the least. What happened was on friday we went on a slot canyon hike. It was scheduled from 9-4. What happened was drastically different. There were 40 people that went down into the hike, including a 9 month old baby. She was in a backpack, and it didn't seem like it would be too bad for her. She actually loved it and rubbed her hands against the rock and giggled. I never saw it, but I'm sure it was adorable. There were a few rough spots nothing too horrible, until we reached the repel. The first one took quite a while, it was only 20 feet, but the only hard part was the tight space we had to get through. The second repel was much harder, it was 80 feet, and I was the first one other than the really experienced guy to repel. It was terrifying, but awesome. Anyway, so I was down there for about 4 hours before one group finally left, which I was in. We had one leader, a guide, and 14 youth. This group was the first to go through some pretty rough spots. there was a water hole in the canyon that was absolutely filthy water, but we had to swim through it to get out. We had to walk through many water holes after that. Maybe 40 percent was water after that point, it was kinda gross, but it was a lot of fun anyway. Well, after that we were on top of the mountain, unsure of exactly where the cars were, but we were on top of the mountain and made contact with the other people that were still in the canyon. It was about 6:00 at this point and they were just barely getting finished with the repel. It was a little worrying because cloud storms were gathering, and that is VERY bad in a slot canyon because it could cause a flash flood. well, my group made it to the point where we started and found one of the cars, and 17 people crammed into a 9 person suburban. It was very cozy, to say the least. Well, we were getting really worried about the people down in the canyon because it was about 8:30 or 9 at this point. Well, one awesome thing happened, the sunset.. It was the most gorgeous sunset I have EVER seen! It was a beauty I wish you could have seen! haha. Anyway, we couldn't get contact with anyone, and the guide decided to go back. He knew the lay of the land, and was pretty good. We ended up going back to camp, and at this point it was completely dark. We passed our camp up completely, but we ended up seeing 2 trucks at about 11:30ish telling us that our campsite was not too far off. In the trucks were the ranger, and the guy that was going to do a fireside for us.. at 7ish. haha! Sad for him, he didn't end up doing it. Anyway, I was freaking out ALOT at this point, a lot of my ward, including my dad and little brother, were somewhere in the mountains, maybe in a canyon where I didn't know if they would be okay or not. I ended up having an emotional breakdown, sobbing and hyperventilating, but then one of my friends and I said a little prayer, and I had the impression that if I looked up and saw stars everything would be okay. In the end, they ended up staying in the canyon sleeping.. well it was more on a ridge, but they were okay. I cried a lot when i got to see my little brother the next morning. In church the next day, I even made him cry, which is pretty impressive. In his words, I hit his crying wall with an A-bomb. My Dad was going to try to be a tough man, but I made him cry too. Over all it was a really hard experience, but worth it. Sorry.. this was really long.. haha.

Wow...I'm feeling really left out here because I haven't posted a single message on here yet! This is actually the first chance I've really had to get on the GHA website because I've been gone most of the summer. I've been to a bunch of other camps, but I just have to tell you guys, GHA has definitely been the funnest one so far. I miss GHA sooo much! I am constantly talking about something from GHA and I think my family and friends are probably starting to get annoyed by it. Haha. But anyways, I really do miss everyone!!! I can't wait for the reunion!! Also, I think everyone should try to go to Cody and Amy's reception. It would be way cool if we could all go and congratulate them, but also it would be a good way to get us all back together so we can see each other again! Ah I'm glad you missed me Bradley! That meakes me feel special! haha. Well, I've decided that I really like this whole message board thing! I only barely got on it last night, but still....I feel like I can stay in touch better with everyone. So I know this is a little delayed, but thanks Jared for setting this up for us! And also Skye, the reunion isn't until sometime in November. I have no idea when in November, but it's in November. Has anyone else received any other information on it? If so, let us all know. I'm way excited for it! I still miss GHA so much! I've been craving a good game of ultimate fisbee ever since I got home. haha. Well, I'll talk to everyone later.

So, Heather Young, it totally confuses me when they say Heather... It's okay though. I think I figured it out. =)So, it's nice to know at least what month the reunion is in, but I need to see people before that. I think we should organize our own little unofficial reunion! Oh.. Ok first of all, my email is shareekatika@hotmail.com....apparently it was wrong on the bio sheet. (I haven't looked.) But that's what it is. And sorry Bradley, I'll be home for good this Friday so I'll be able to keep in touch with people better after that. And Aleshea, that's funny what Jenny said. It doesn't really surprise me though. A bunch of people tell me that Gentry and I look alike, we just don't really see it except for the hair color. Haha. Gentry's grandma (not the grandma we share, so Matt and Jenny's mom) even calls me Gentry sometimes haha. It's an interesting life. And sorry Heather! I know it gets way confusing when there are two of us. Haha. I've been to two other camps besides GHA and there have been more than one Heather at both of those too. So it's made things somewhat confusing. haha. Well, I think I've talked long enough so I guess I'll go. I'll talk to everyone later!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you all know.. especially those who live in the Salt Lake area that we are going to get together on Aug. 4th, this saturday! We're going to hang out and go swimming. The address to the pool is 4915 S 2700 W, Taylorsville, UT. It costs $3.00 for people 13-17 (that would be us.) but if any counselors can make it, it would be $3.50. We're going to meet at the park right by it at 5:00 p.m. So far I know that I'll be there, along with Spencer. I hope it's not just us two. I want to see everyone! The park is big enough that we could play ultimate frizbee! I know everyone would enjoy that!

I love the get together idea, but I might not be able to go. If it was a little earlier, I would probably be able to, but my family is headed back to Wendover at that time of day. Anway, I too got my essay sent off (HIP-HIP-HOORAY!!). By the way, I told my friends about Abraham Lincoln during youth conference, so at like midnight as we tried to get to sleep, someone would keep saying, "Abraham Lincoln."

Wow... i have free time all the sudden. Anyway life has been busy busy busy! Work has been insane!!!! Who knows why? It makes time hard to find. I finished my essay on the day harry potter came out and i couldnt start reading harry potter till i finished my essay. This was irritating. But i finished harry potter which was possibly the most amazing book i've read *sad huh* anyway Heather thank you for making the move for gha get together. but i cant make it i have to work i can assure that but ill be there in spirit!
