Stipend, Benefits, Resources

Stipend / Benefits

The internship appointment is for twelve (12) months, at 40 hours per week, beginning August 1st.

Two doctoral level internships are currently offered, each carrying a stipend of $22,000 for the twelve months.

Interns are eligible for university benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, sick leave, vacation time, and 12 paid university holidays. SUU also contributes 14.2% to intern retirement plans.

Interns are eligible for additional benefits including dissertation release time, professional development time, and some funding for professional workshops and conferences.

A Note About Liability Insurance

While covered by the University's general liability insurance, interns are required to carry their own professional liability insurance coverage, which can be obtained through APA or often a student’s home institution at a reasonable cost.

Resources

Interns each have their own private office and are free to decorate and personalize their space. Offices each have a desk, computer, bookshelves, furniture, and space for counseling. Additionally, each intern office is equipped with digital video cameras to record sessions for review by interns and supervisors.

The Counseling Center uses Titanium for scheduling and clinical notes, and all interns have access to Titanium on their computers.

Our front office staff provide excellent clerical support to interns.
