Academic Resource Management Offers information on research fellowships and science internship opportunities primarily for undergraduate students.  Applicants may apply on-line for research or lab positions in science, engineering and related majors.  Some opportunities also exist for faculty and post-grad students. 

Council On Environment Quality:  Students will advise the President on national and international environmental policy matters.

Direct Marketing Association:  This national non-profit has a listing service for hundreds of national internships - many of them are paid.  Direct marketing is not just about getting junk mail in your box.  Its various methods serve many industries and interests.

The Environmental Careers Organization (ECO):  a national, non-profit organization that protects and enhances the environment through the development of professionals, the promotion of careers and inspiration of individual action.  More than 8,500 interns have been placed in paid internships nationwide since 1972.  Each year about 650 ECO Associates are placed in paid internships at local, state, and federal government agencies, non-profits, private corporations and consulting firms across the country. 

The Fund for American Studies:  Sponsored by Georgetown University, this summer internship emphasizes three Washington D.C.-based internship areas for students interested in US policy or government affairs:  comparative political and economic systems; business and government affairs; or political journalism. 

Institute for Experimental Learning:  They offer a number internships in the Washington, D.C. area.  Interns may serve in Federal agencies, the house or senate, the Supreme Court, the Department of State and even inside foreign embassies located in the area for Mexico, Korea, France, Sri Lanka and a few other nations.  They recruit three times per year.  Watch their deadlines!  Most internships are unpaid. 

InternshipPrograms.com:  Offers a free site for students, employers and college staff to exchange information on internship programs.  The site hosts data sheets on hundreds of companies which give detailed information about the company and the internship opportunities.  Students may also apply directly on-line for many of the companies.

John F. Kennedy Center:  Internships at the Kennedy Center are designed to offer meaningful learning experiences for people interested in performing arts management and/or arts education.  Upper-level undergraduate students, graduate students, and students who have not been out of school for more than two years are eligible.  All majors are encouraged to apply!

Magazine Publishers of America:  With more than 240 publishing titles and 1,400 titles among its membership, this non-profit industry association offers a listing of internships available at member magazines such as Vibe, People, Nickelodeon, Gear, YM, Reader's Digest and more. 

Newfound Harbor Marine Institute:  Offers internships in marine environmental education in the Florida Keys.  Programs run September to December of January to May.  Deadlines are July 1 for Fall and October 15 for Spring.  Interns gain professional training, skill development and academic credit while receiving room and board, a monthly stipend and a travel bonus. 

People to People International:  a non-political, non-profit organization founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, the organization seeks to place students in internships and study abroad programs in a wide range of fields.  Internships also include a series of issue oriented, short-term seminars on policy, issues and events. 

Rainforest Action Network:  A non-profit organization based in San Francisco, this group works to protect the Earth's rainforests and support the rights of their inhabitants through education, grassroots organizing and non-violent direct action.  Interns can serve any 3-month period.

Rising Star:  Seeks production interns for music videos.

Student Conservation Association:  Interns can serve at any number of national parks, national recreation areas, national forests or other federally-supported locations.  Interns assist with building and maintaining trails, assisting programs and personnel within the parks and a variety of other outdoor assignments.  Students have ample time off to explore and hike their assigned areas.  Internships are unpaid, but lodging, meals and travel are included.

US State Department:  A summer internship program helping the American embassy, writing reports, composing classified cables, and working on various projects given by staff.

The Washington Center for Internships:  TWC is a nonprofit, educational organization that provides full-time internships and short-term academic seminars for college students from over 1000 colleges and universities in the US and abroad who seek a quality, supervised internship worthy of academic credit. 

Washington Semester and World Capitals Programs:  Offered by the American University, this program offers  two summer sessions which take interns into the work site 4-1/2 days per week with a faculty led seminar the other 1/2 day.  Students earn 3 academic credits which are transferable to their home school.  Internships are available in:  national government & politics; economic policy and international business; print and broadcast media & communication; foreign policy & international affairs; arts & humanities; justice & law. 

White House Government Internships:  Interns at the Social Office help plan White House dinners and other gatherings.  Other government internships are working for the Chief of Staff, Counsel to the President, Office of the First Lady, the National AIDS Policy and other offices.

InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA) (www.infragardmembers.org) - We have over 25,000 members in 86 chapters across the country. We are affiliated with the FBI. Our mission is to connect the owners and operators of the critical infrastructures at the local level with the Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and other Federal organizations (i.e., DHS, ATF, etc.). GRAND CANYON TRUST /   Identification of Reference Areas on the Dixie, and Fishlake National Forests.  Intern Position:  Grand Canyon Trust (GCT) is seeking one intern for the summer of 2008, who is familiar with western botany, ecology, and field work.  The intern will help identify, characterize, and recommend reference areas for riparian and other eco-types on two of Utah’s southern National Forests: the Dixie, and Fishlake Forests.  There will also be some survey work along riparian areas outside of the National Forests.  The intern must be available to take a week long training course from June 7 to June 15.  The intern will be paid during the training and GCT will pay the course fee.  The course will teach a Rapid Stream-Riparian Assessment (RSRA) protocol which will be used during summer field work.  The course will be taught by Dr. Peter Stacey of the University of New Mexico.  The field course will be conducted near Boulder, Utah and camping at the site will be provided.  Meals during the course are included with the training fee.  This job posting is for: A student intern for a 12 week period including the RSRA training course to begin on June 2 and extending sequentially for 6 weeks to July 11.  There will be a nine day hiatus and then work will start again on July 21 and continue until August 29. This intern will assist with stream assessments as well as reference area surveys and will be required to assist with report preparation. Responsible for the identification and removal of toxic plants; as well as the development of browse for environmental enrichment. This internship requires the completion of an Independent Project.
