Holland's Occupational and Personality Model, developed by John Holland, is a popular tool that divides job seekers into six personality type categories: REALISTIC, INVESTIGATIVE, ARTISTIC, SOCIAL, ENTERPRISING, CONVENTIONAL. These categories are generalizations and are not intended to be an exact match, but they can help guide you in your search for a future career.
| CONVENTIONAL: Data and Detail; Express interest and solve problems by Organizing. Enjoy activities that permit organization of information in a clear, orderly manner; Detail-oriented, responsible, logical and conforming; Like structured settings. | REALISTIC: Technically and athletically inclined; Express interests and solve problems by Doing. Enjoy working with machines, tools, objects, and animals; Practical, reserved and physical. May like to work outdoors on concrete problems and see tangible results. | INVESTIGATIVE: Abstract problem solvers; Express interest and solve problems by Thinking.
