Moving In

Fall 2014 Move-In

Check in at Eccles Living Learning Center, Building A (250 S 500 W, Cedar City, UT 84720). University Housing Staff and campus volunteers will provide you with keys, share important housing information, and help you unload and get settled.

Move-In Dates

1st Year Students (T-Bird Landing): Wednesday, August 20, 2014 (8:30am - 6pm)
All Other Students: Saturday, August 23, 2014 (10am - 6pm)

Additional Information

Personal Computers & Internet Access

All residents have access to a high-speed internet connection in their residence hall and can establish a network connection upon checking in.

Mail Service

SUU Mail Services offers mail boxes, USPS, UPS & FedEx services. Students may register for a box during regular business hours. Boxes are located in housing and the Student Center. Mail is delivered daily, with exception of weekends and holidays. Post office box rates are as follows::

  • Calendar Year – $33 (Fall, Spring, & Summer Semesters)
  • Academic Year – $28 (Fall and Spring Semesters)
  • 1 Semester – $21

Campus Dining

Thunderbird Circle Dining Hall will be open during check-in days and accepts cash, T-Bird Bucks and major credit cards. Meal plans and dining dollars can be used beginning with breakfast on Thurs., August 22.

Parking

Bicycles

Bike racks are provided around campus for your convenience. Bike permits are free, but required. Visit www.suu.edu/parking to register. Inside the residence halls, bikes are not permitted at any time. This is to maintain high quality, clean facilities and promote safety.

Laundry

Laundry rooms with low-cost, coin and/or T-card operated washers and dryers are located in each residence hall. Don't forget to put T-Bird Bucks on your T-card at the Cashier's office.

Furniture

Each apartment and room is fully furnished. Packing checklists for each building are online that detail the furnishings associated with your room assignment as well as a list of items we recommend you bring. Residents may not bring personal furniture into their apartment or residence hall room without written authorization of the Director of University Housing.

Refrigerators

Refrigerators are provided in each Eccles and Ponderosa apartment. Additional refrigerators in these halls are not permitted. Suites in Cedar Hall are not furnished with refrigerators. Cedar Hall residents may supply one refrigerator per bedroom and should coordinate with roommates to prevent duplication. Refrigerators may not exceed 2 cubic feet in capacity.

Prohibited Items

The following list specifies items that are not permitted in the residence halls under any circumstances. This list is not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Any item deemed to be a safety or security concern may be confiscated or be required to be removed immediately.

  • Alcohol & Alcohol Containers
  • Illegal Drugs & Drug Paraphernalia
  • Candles of any variety
  • Electric Heaters and Personal Air Conditioners
  • Fuels (e.g. propane or kerosene)
  • Hazardous Chemicals
  • Microwaves
  • Open Coils & Heating Elements
  • Pets
  • Wireless Routers and Internet Switches
  • Weapons
  • Candles

Overnight Guests

To promote academic success, University Housing only allows overnight guests after the first two weeks of the semester and before the last two weeks of the semester. Parents, family members and friends helping residents during check-in should reserve accommodations at local hotels as necessary.

University Housing offers an unrivaled number of amenities to its residents. While the listed amenities are cost-free, some require reservations. (Information about each amenity is published in the online Resident Handbook.) Amenities include:

Summer 2013 Move-In

Upon arrival, check in at Eccles Living Learning Center, Building A (250 S. 500 W., Cedar City, UT 84720) by calling the number posted on the front door. There you will be issued keys and receive resident information.

Move-In Dates

Maymester: Sunday, May 5, 2013 (10:00am - 4:00pm)
1st Session: Monday, May 27, 2013(10:00am - 4:00pm)
2nd Session: Sunday, June 30, 2013(10:00am - 4:00pm)
