Academic Advisement
The MCC staff are available for assistance in selecting a class schedule, monitoring grades, and in writing letters of recommendations, appeals, etc.

Financial Aid & Scholarship Information
MCC staff maintain a file and website references of current scholarship info available to specific ethnic minority groups. Staff also work closely with Financial Aid to secure supplemental funds for eligible students. Outstanding ethnic minority student scholars are honored each spring at the MCC Awards with scholarships for the following academic year.

Problem Solving & Crisis Intervention
The MCC staff are available to help in working through personal problems and decision making. A number of local community support programs can be accessed through referral from MCC.

Connection with Student Support Services for Math and English Classes
If you are a first generation college student or low income, you qualify for support through college preparatory English and Math classes. Contact Lynne Brown for class enrollment and information.

Study Groups and Social Activities
As you meet people from other cultures, you’ll likely find other majors, too. These relationships can evolve into study opportunities, and while you receive assistance, you may also be able to give assistance in your area of expertise.
