Parent & Guest Orientation offers an opportunity to learn about the exciting new experiences that await your student as they enter Southern Utah University. Parents and guardians are encouraged, but not required, to attend the SUU Orientation program.

The Parent & Guest Orientation program is held concurrently with New Student Orientation. Although parents and guest will accompany students for a portion of the day, there will be multiple occasions when parents and guests will break away from students for specific programs. Learn how to let your T-Bird spread their wings and how to support them as they transition into a new phase of life.

Learn about Financial Aid, Meal Plans, the SUU Bookstore, and how to help your student succeed academically at SUU.
SUU staff and administrators answer questions and concerns during this Q&A session.
Take a tour of campus and learn about where your student will be living, and take some time to relax in our lounge, speak with campus administrators and pick up resources.
If your student chooses to attend an Overnight Orientation, there will be opportunities to meet SUU Faculty, Staff and Administrators at a parent and guest reception held in the evening.
The cost of Parent & Guest Orientation is $15 per person for a traditional orientation or $30 for an overnight orientation. This charge includes lunch and program materials and is non-refundable.
On-campus housing is not provided for guests, so you are responsible for your own lodging in Cedar City. Some hotels offer SUU parent discounts.
Sign up for the Parent & Guest Orientation program is included in the online reservation form when your student signs up for Orientation. The Parent & Guest Orientation fee will be added to your student's Orientation charge when making the reservation.

If your student is requesting to change to his/her Orientation session, you will automatically be included in that request unless the Orientation office receives alternative instructions.
Parents and guests may request a change to their assigned Parent & Guest Orientation session by e-mail. There is no fee for Parent & Guest Orientation session changes.
