SUU Orientation

 What to Bring

Here's a list of things you should bring to your Orientation session:

Traditional (one-day) Orientation checklist:

  • Casual and comfortable clothing and footwear (you will be doing a lot of walking).
  • SUU apparel, to show off your T-Bird pride!
  • Your favorite “look” as you will be taking your ID photo during Orientation, which will last you at least a year!
  • An eagerness to learn and willingness to step out of your comfort zone.  Orientation is the time when you will start making friends and learning what being an SUU student is all about.  You will get out of Orientation what you put into it.
  • Transcripts from other colleges you may have attended previously.
  • Questions you have for any office on campus.
  • Your T number (it is better to memorize this sooner rather than later).

Overnight (two-day) Orientation checklist:

During an overnight orientation, you will be staying on campus in one of our residence hall facilities.  You will be in a room with other new students or O-Leader, but will have your own bed.  Rooms are grouped by gender.  Housing provides a pillow, sheets, blanket, and towels.  You will be able to drop off your personal items in your room when you check-in, so you will not have to carry your belongings around all day.

  • All of the above items, plus:
    • Toiletries
    • Clothes to sleep in
    • A change of clothes for the second day
    • Comfortable clothes to be active in (as you will have time for open gym)
    • Shower items
    • Charging devices for your phone or tablet
    • An extra pillow (if you are attached to yours)

Transfer Express checklist:

  • SUU apparel, to show off your T-Bird pride!
  • Your T number (it is better to memorize this sooner rather than later).
  • Your favorite “look” as you will be taking your ID photo!
  • Questions you have about any office on campus and the transfer experience at SUU,
