Equipment Rental
Outdoor equipment is available to rent for a nominal fee for SUU students, faculty and staff. Basic recreational equipment and camping gear, such as tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, coolers and stoves are available for rent. More specialized equipment, such as cross country skis, snowshoes or other items, may be available.

Equipment Rental Policies
Reservations/Check-Out
Reservations must be made in person and paid in full at time of reservation. All equipment checked out on Friday (or the day before a holiday weekend) will be considered a weekend rental and be due back Monday. Please allow 15-20 minutes for equipment check out. To check out or reserve equipment you will need the following:
Driver’s License (or passport)
Credit Card (required even if equipment is paid for with cash or check)
Address, phone, and email.
For SUU rate: SUU student (with current activities sticker) or Faculty/Staff ID
Cancellations/Refunds
Cancellations will result in a refund according to the follow system:
7 days prior, 90% refund.
2-7 days prior, 50% refund
Less than 2 days prior, no refund
Refunds will only be processed through the SUU accounting office in the form of a check. Checks can be picked up in the administration building after 1 week. Funds cannot be refunded to a credit card.
Equipment Due
Equipment is due by 4:00pm of the due date. A late fee (equal to 1.5 times the daily rental fee per day overdue) will be assessed if not returned on time. Equipment must be checked in with a SUU Outdoors’ staff. Please allow 15-20 for equipment check in.
Equipment Inspection
Equipment will be inspected for damages and cleanliness upon return by SUU Outdoors’ staff. A cleaning fee will be assessed for any equipment returned excessively dirty, soiled, or wet. Fees will be assessed for any damages to equipment. Customer should inspect equipment upon check out and report any discrepancies prior to departure.
