Places to See
Southern Utah is home to so many great places to see you won't want to miss out!
Here's a partial list of places to visit.
- Kanarra Canyon - Hiking (slot canyon with water) Approx. 25 minutes from Cedar City.
Directions - Take I-15 southbound towards St. George. Take exit 51 (Kanarraville/Hamilton Fort). Turn left onto and follow Old Highway 91 for a couple miles into Kanarraville. Turn east at 100 N. Pavement ends after a couple blocks, but continues as a dirt road. Follow that road to the stream.
- Spring Canyon - Hiking (slot canyon) Approx. 25 minutes from Cedar City.
Directions - From Cedar City, head south on I-15. Take exit 51, turn left towards Kanarraville. Pass almost through the town. On the south end of town is a small red barn with a horse and buggy image. Turn left on the dirt road just after the barn. Follow this to a parking lot. Enjoy the hike.
- Red Cliffs Recreation Area - Hiking, camping, water sports. Approx. 25 minutes from Cedar City.
Directions - To get to Red Cliffs, get on Southbound I-15 and take Exit 23 into Leeds. Turn into town and go all the way through the town. The road continues parallel to the freeway and takes you to Quail Lake and a trailer park. At the trailer park turn right to go under the freeway and follow that road. Follow the paved road (not the dirt one) through the little stream and on into Red Cliffs Rec. Area. There is a big parking lot at the entrance, the road continues into a campground. Park in the parking lot, and below in the trees is a group area where we will be barbecuing.
- Quail Lake - Camping, fishing, water sports. Approx. 40 minutes from Cedar City
Directions - Get on Southbound I-15 and take Exit 23 into Leeds. Turn into town and go all the way through the town. The road continues parallel to the freeway. The road will turn into a dirt road just after Harrisburg. The turn to Quail Lake is on the left just after Harrisburg. Just follow the signs.
- Navajo Lake - Camping, biking, fishing. Approx. 35 minutes from Cedar City
Directions - Head east on highway 14
- Cedar Breaks National Monument - Hiking. Approx. 30 minutes from Cedar City
Directions - Head east on highway 14 until highway 148 (marked as the turnoff for Cedar Breaks and Brian Head). The parking lot will be on your left a couple miles up highway 148. Official Cedar Breaks website
