Addressing Your Mail

The address is the most important part of any letter. If your address is correct the speed and handling time will improve.

Format for correct addresses:
Recipient Name
Name of Organization
Street Address*
City State and Zip Code **

Example:
John Doe
Robots Are Us
12345 MAIN ST STE 17
CEDAR CITY, UT 84720

*Street address - Use a post office box or street address, but not both. If the address also has a directional (for instance, “NW” for Northwest), be sure to use it. There may be more than one Main Street.

*Apartment or Suite Number - Use the correct apartment or suite number to help insure your delivery is made to the right person.

**City State and Zip Code - Spelling, zip code accuracy, and state codes are very helpful to properly delivering you mail. If you need help please refer to www.usps.com/zip4

All outgoing mail should have a return address in the upper left hand corner. The correct postage should be applied to all mail and should be affixed to the upper right hand corner of the envelop. Any extra services, such as certified mail labels, should be to the left of the postage stamp.
