General Policies
- In the interest of safety, all persons will evacuate the building calmly and immediately in the event of a fire alarm.
- All common space in the Smith Center is for the overall enjoyment of everyone. With our commitment to make this space available to members of the University population, activities which inhibit the use of space by the public at large are prohibited.
- The unauthorized solicitation of donations or commercial activity is prohibited in the common spaces of the Center. Violators will be asked to leave the building.
- The Utah Clean Air Act prohibits smoking in the Smith Center and all buildings on campus. Smoking on the campus is allowed twenty-five (25) feet from the entrances of all buildings.
- Animals are not permitted in the building with the exception of guide dogs for persons who are physically challenged. Exceptions to this policy must be submitted to the Director of Activities.
- Due to the proximity of Food Service, shoes and shirts must be worn in the Center.
- In accordance with Southern Utah University Policies and Procedures, the use of roller skates/blades, skateboards and bicycles is prohibited in the Center.
- No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the Center or anywhere on campus.
- Any behavior exhibited in the Center that violates the law, or endangers property or persons will not be tolerated and may result in prosecution.
