Posting and Advertising
The policies in this section refer to the use of bulletin boards, display cases, posters, and flyers on campus. All posters, banners or any other medium must be approved and stamped for posting by the SSC Student Activities Office. All advertising must contain the sponsor's name on the poster or flyer. The Center cannot be responsible for missing, stolen or outdated materials such as banners, posters or display items.
Materials must be in good taste, adhere to campus policy, look professional, and not detract from the University's appearance. The Student Activities Office reserves the right to remove any posters (posted materials) that do not meet the above specifications.
Use of masking tape, scotch tape, staples (or any adhering material used to post) is prohibited. All displays must be removed as soon as the event is over.
Clubs and organizations may not use "Southern Utah University" as part of their name. "Southern Utah University" may not be used on posted materials, except to indicate the location of the event.
Posting is not allowed in classrooms, academic or administrative buildings. Posting in the hallway of the Administration Building is permitted. Posting in the residence halls must (also) be approved with the Residence Hall Stamp. Posting in the Business Building must also be approved by the Business Office on the third floor.
Items may not be posted on doors, glass, walls either painted or brick, or windows.
By posting on campus, the person or organization agrees to hold the University harmless for any assessed damages or liabilities incurred as a result of the posting.
Banner Posting Areas
- Posting areas include above two main entrances by T-Bird Circle, Student Activities and the East Mall, above Hogi Yogi.
- Computer or professionally made signs and banners are permitted (No hand made signs will be allowed)
- All signs and banners must be stamped "approved for posting" through the Student Activities Office.
- SUUSA, Clubs & Organizations in good standing may post signs.
- Signs/banners in East Mall must be hung by Building Operations Crew.
- Signs/banners over entrances & Living Room may be hung by Student Groups.
- Length of time: Signs may be posted three (3)days prior to the event, or all week for a "Week Long Activity". Signs must be taken down the day after the event.
Display/Marquis Cases
Application for use of display/marquis cases in the Center can be made through the Office of Student Activities.
