The Student Health Clinic is located in the SUU Sharwan Smith Center, room 168, directly across the walk-way from the SUU Post Office.
When is the Student Health Clinic open?
The Student Health Clinic is open Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. We are closed for designated campus holidays. Hours may be adjusted based on staffing and vacations.
Who can be seen at the Student Health Clinic?
Student Health Clinic services are available to enrolled students.
Can my spouse or children be seen at the Student Health Clinic?
Student Health Clinic services are primarily funded by student fees, therefore we only see enrolled students.

Does the Student Health Clinic take insurance?
The Student Health Clinic does not bill insurance companies. Most of our charges are lower than office visit co-pay.
If you are covered by an insurance policy we recommend you have a copy of your insurance card or insurance information available in case you need it in an emergency.
If you do not have health insurance coverage, local insurance brokers can be found in the Yellow Pages under “Insurance”.
Do I need an appointment to see the Nurse Practitioner?
Appointments are needed to see a provider in the Student Health Clinic. Call (435) 586-7718 for an appointment.
What do I do if I need immediate medical care, and the Student Health Clinic is closed or I can’t wait for an appointment?
There is an Intermountain InstaCare located at 962 South Sage Drive, Cedar City, (435) 865-3440. If it is an emergency call 911 or go to the emergency room at Valley View Medical Center at 1302 North Main Street; (435) 868-5000. Local physicians can be found in the Yellow Pages under “Physicians”.
What do I do if I am having a mental health crisis?
During business hours you may call Counseling and Psychological Services at (435) 865-8621, to see if there is a counselor available for crisis visits. If Counseling and Psychological Services is closed or unavailable go to the Valley View Medical Center Emergency Room at 1302 North Main Street; if you need immediate assistance call 911.
What if there is an emergency on campus – do I call the Student Health Clinic?
If there is an emergency on campus you should immediately call 911. Student Health Clinic staff does not respond to emergencies outside of the Student Health Clinic.
What do I do if I need help with an alcohol or drug abuse problem?
Students can obtain information and support regarding their own, or some else’s substance related issues by calling Marsha Garber with the Alcohol and Other Drug Education and Prevention Program at (435) 865-8445.
Will information about me be given to my parents?
All services at the Student Health Clinic are confidential. Information about a client/patient cannot be released without a signed consent from the client/patient.
What if I am under 18 – can I still be treated at the Student Health Clinic?
You can be treated at the Student Health Clinic if your parent or guardian signs a release.
