Wellness Center Mission Statement

The Wellness Center is committed to the concept of creating and maintaining overall wellness which includes; healthy social, psychological, physiological, intellectual, career, and emotional development, over the lifetime of each student, on an inter-personal and intra-personal level.

Wellness is the guiding philosophy that leads to a way of life, which encourages personal responsibility and a balanced lifestyle, environmental awareness and personal growth.

It is the purpose of the Wellness Center staff, to offer quality psychological counseling and health education experiences, which provide students with the necessary information and skills, to assist them in developing healthy lifestyles that will enable them to cope effectively with life's challenges.

Student Health Services Vision Statement

Vision
SUU Student Health Clinic strives to provide services to student in a holistic manner that encourages personal responsibility, a balanced lifestyle, environmental awareness, and personal growth.

Mission
SUU Student Health Clinic will provide quality primary health care and education to SUU students to enhance their ability to perform at their best capacity in the academic setting and develop lifelong health habits.  SUU Student Health Clinic will collaborate with other campus agencies to protect the health of the campus community.

  • Provide treatment and education to maintain the health of the student both physically and mentally in order for them to excel academically.

Community and Social Responsibility

  • Promote healthy lifestyles and choices on an individual basis and campus wide.
  • Collaborate with community and campus agencies to encourage healthy choices by students.
  • Recognize risk factors and trends in relation to student health.

Involvement and Personal Growth

  • Encourage personal growth of the student through academics, community service, and campus involvement.
  • Provide learning opportunities for students on both an individual and campus wide basis.
