Opus to Cali

Be it appropriated by a quorum of the Senate of the Southern Utah University Student
Association that $525 be allocated to the Opus Chamber Choir for their recruitment trip to California.
Whereas: This is a great opportunity for 22 students to participate in recruiting in the Southern California area.
Whereas: Performance exchanges with several high schools will take place enabling the directors to work with both choirs.
Whereas: The Music Department relies heavily on exposure to outside venues in order to draw students to our program.
Therefore let it be enacted that $525 be allocated to the Opus chamber choir for their recruitment trip to California.

The following is a reply to an email concerning an itinerary for the Opus trip to California.

"The group traveled to California last year during spring break. I was
not the director at the time, but they performed a couple of concerts
and met with a high school.

Our itinerary will be something like this:
May 4, travel to Diamond Bar, perform evening concert
May 5, Meet with high School students, go to Knot's Berry Farm, perform
concert and spend the day
May 6, Travel to Fullerton, meet with High School during the day,
perform concert that evening
may 7, Newport Beach, Concert that evening.
May 8, Morning at beach, travel home.

The students will pay for some food, and Knott's Berry Farm entrance."
