Interdisciplinary Again

Be it appropriated by a quorum of the Senate of the Southern Utah University Student
Association that $800.00 be allocated to Gerard Yun for participation in the Interdisciplinary Concert.
Whereas: Dr. Gerard Yun, choir director at the University of Wilford Laurier in Waterloo, Ontario, will be visiting SUU campus from March 9-14 to participate in a series of projects related to the collaboration of poetry and music, and;
Whereas: He has collaborated with poet Dr. Danielle Dubrasky (HSS) and choreographer Paul Ocampo (PVA) on piece "The Spirits of Takasago," This a performance of original poetry, music, and choreography will be premiered at the Faculty Dance Show on March 12th and 14th, and;
Whereas: He will also give a special Convocations about the shakuhachi flute and the nature of time in music on Wednesday, March 11, at 12:00 noon in the Sharwan Smith Theatre, and;
Whereas: This bill is sponsored in part by the Literary Guild, a student organization that helps fund visits by visiting writers and other events related to writing, and
Whereas: In addition, Dr. Yun's original composition for "The Spirits of Takasago" allows dance students to participate in the premier of that piece and to perform to live music. He will be rehearsing with those students from March 9-March 12.
Therefore let it be enacted that $800.00 be allocated to Gerard Yun for participation in the Interdisciplinary Concert.
