Student-Faculty Scholarship Day

Ninth Annual Student-Faculty Scholarship Day

“In Pursuit of Excellence”
Wednesday, April 23, 2008
Sharwan Smith Center

The Annual Student-Faculty Scholarship Day (SFSD) is intended to encourage and promote scholarship among faculty and students.  The conference honors and showcases the cooperative efforts between members of both groups to enhance their academic, professional, and personal growth.

Students interested in presenting their collaborative work must complete the SFSD submission form no later than Monday, March 31, 2008.  Examples of scholarly activities which may be submitted include, but are not limited to: research results, literary critiques, musical recitals, dance performances, and other artistic/scholarly work.

There is no registration fee.  Both campus and community members are welcome to attend the conference.  Student presenters and their advisors/mentors, students enrolled in the honors program, and students enrolled in the service learning scholar program, will be treated to an awards ceremony in their honor.  Students may bring up to three guests to the ceremony.

Prizes will be awarded to students for the best presentation(s) in each category.  Categories and prizes will be established to represent the number and nature of the submissions received.

At the mentor’s discretion, presentations made at the conference will be published in an online journal: Southern Utah University: Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Scholarship.
