Outstanding Educator Award

Nominations close February 20, 2019

This award is to recognize an individual, full-time faculty for demonstration of outstanding teaching effectiveness; scholarly activity; peer respect from fellow colleagues; sincere interest in students; and professional commitment and service to others and the University overall.

Individual nominations are submitted to the Faculty Senate, then passed along to the provost's office.

Distinguished Educators

This award is to recognize three (3) individual, full-time faculty for distinguished teaching effectiveness; professional commitment; demonstrated interest in students; and service to others and the University overall.

A Faculty Senate subcommittee votes on nominations and selects the recipients of this award.

Distinguished Scholarly/Creative Activity

Nominations close February 20, 2019

These awards recognize three faculty members for distinguished academic achievement in scholarship, which is defined by scholarly and/or creative work that has been peer-reviewed and judged to be superior. A Faculty Senate subcommittee votes on nominations and selects the recipients of this award.

Outstanding Educator for Inclusion & Diversity

Nominations close February 20, 2019

This award celebrates outstanding individuals or groups that, engaging with other stakeholders and partners on campus, are working to increase and sustain diversity, inclusion, and equity at SUU. Awards will be made by nomination of a faculty member, unit, or department. Nominations should detail how the individual or group has worked to elevate inclusion, diversity, and equity related to sex, gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, disability, socioeconomic status, age, political affiliation, religion, philosophy, or sexual orientation. Faculty of all ranks, departments, or programs are eligible for nomination, as are joint nominations for initiatives that involve two or more faculty, as well as entire units or departments. In the event of a joint nomination award, the award funds will be split evenly between the awardees. Self-nominations are not permitted.

Distinguished Faculty for Inclusion & Diversity

The Distinguished Faculty for Inclusion and Diversity award celebrates an exemplar faculty member who is working collaboratively to build a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable climate on campus.  Nominations should clearly demonstrate how the individual has led an effort, initiative, or project to build greater diversity, inclusion, and equity related to sex, gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, disability, socioeconomic status, age, political affiliation, religion, philosophy, or sexual orientation.

Distinguished Service

Nominations close February 20, 2019

This award is to recognize an individual, full-time faculty for demonstration of distinguished service to the University and the greater community; a pattern of quality service; a variety of service efforts; efforts having increased the quality of some aspect of the University's mission; and a genuine interest in serving students, colleagues, and the University. A Faculty Senate subcommittee votes on nominations and selects the recipients of this award.
