Staff Association

How University Staff Impact Students

  • Develop students' ability to contribute to the betterment of society -- American Council on Education (1937 & 1949)
  • Encourage student involvement in learning and personal factors in education -- National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (1987)
  • Educate students to be critical thinkers, effective communicators, lifelong learners, and individuals who demonstrate integrity and empathy as they pursue their lives' ambitions -- Southern Utah University Mission Statement
  • At SUU, 120 staff members supervise over 1,000 students each semester. That means in addition to student advisement and other student activities where students are in direct contact with staff, SUU Students receive direct supervision in their own course of employment by SUU staff for over 11,500 combined hours each week. -- Southern Utah University Payroll Office
