Nick Robinson Named SUU Men's Basketball Coach

SUU Coach Nick RobinsonSouthern Utah University has named Nick Robinson as its new men's basketball coach. SUU Athletic Director Ken Beazer introduced Robinson-the eighth head coach during the school's 49-year history as a four-year institution-this afternoon at a press conference held on campus.

"Nick is exactly what this program needs," Beazer said. "He comes to us with the highest of recommendations. He's a tireless worker and an outstanding recruiter and we believe that he and his family will fit well into the community. He will build upon the foundation that we have and lead the program into the Big Sky Conference," Beazer added.

"It's a privilege and an honor to be the eighth head men's basketball coach here at Southern Utah University," Robinson said. "I'm extremely grateful and extremely excited about the opportunity to be here.

The Blueprint For Success: Construction Management Students Win Big
SUU's constructin ManagementStudents in Construction Management are building bright futures, one blueprint at a time.

The students took their skills on the road and competed in the Associated Schools of Construction regional tournament in Reno, NV recently. Rising above the competition from other universities in the West, SUU's team was awarded first place in the 'mixed-use' category.

The competition is a rigorous challenge that tests the skills of students in nearly every phase of construction, from start to finish.

Student-Athlete Highlights

This past month, two of our Thunderbird athletes added additional marks in the SUU record books as they turned in amazing finishes at national and regional meets:

Cameron Levins led SUU to a 15th-Place National Finish at the NCAA Indoor Championship and earned two All-American citations for this third-place time of 7:49.78 in the 3,000-meters and a fourth-place time of 13:38.12 in the 5,000-meters.

Alyssa Click was named the 2012 WAC uneven bar champion and is a 2012 NCAA Regional Qualifier in the balance beam talling the third-highest beam mark in school history (9.925) twice this past season.
