SUU and the Utah Shakespeare Festival Announce $6 Million from Sorenson Legacy Foundation for New Center for the Arts
Beverley Taylor Sorenson Southern Utah University announced on March 21, that it has received a $6 million gift from the Sorenson Legacy Foundation to create a multi-million dollar arts center encompassing new facilities, as well as ongoing support for ArtsFUSION, which provides professional development and pre-service training for elementary educators as well as outreach and workshops for students and teachers in rural Utah.
Working in partnership with the Utah Shakespeare Festival, the new center will further establish SUU as a regional arts mecca.

Jeff Hertig Prepares for SUUSA Presidential Post

Jeff Hertig, 2013-2014 SUUSA President During SUUSA elections, Jeff Hertig campaigned with the REAL party in hopes of being elected SUUSA president and won the general election with 821 votes.

Hertig may have won the majority vote, but what is the story of the 24-year-old junior accounting major from Bountiful who will soon be the face of SUU's student body?

Hertig said he decided to attend SUU after he found a little scrap of paper on the side of the road that had an SUU logo on it.

"It was as if SUU found me," he said. "SUU feels personal, like home."
