Sign up for the 2019 14th Annual Best Business Idea Competition
The Competition is intended to help identify and support high-potential early-stage businesses and business ideas. With ten cash awards worth more than $3,000, all entrepreneurs who meet the criteria are encouraged to consider entering the competition to have their idea heard and evaluated.
Rules for submission:
- The business must not be generating revenue.
- This Competition is open to legal residents of Iron, Beaver, and Garfield Counties, and all SUU students.
- Applicants must be available to pitch on December 3rd @ 5:30 PM
- Winners are encouraged to keep their businesses and develop their winning ideas in Southern Utah
- The following are not eligible: judging and contest agencies involved in the administration, development, fulfillment, and execution of this contest, including their immediate family members.
- Entries must be submitted by midnight on Monday, November 25, 2019.
- Applicants may enter individually or in groups, but only one entry per person. No person may participate in the presentation of more than one idea.
- Entries must describe a legitimate invention or business that may be lawfully operated in the United States. Entries must be the original work of the entrant, must not infringe any third-party rights, and may not in any other way violate applicable laws and regulations.
- SUU assumes all participants and spectators in this contest agree to implied non-disclosure. Proprietary concepts and intellectual property may be protected by a provisional patent or copyright, should the contestant desire. Contestants in this contest will not be penalized for withholding key concepts or intellectual property associated with their business idea.
