Women's Network SpringWelcome to Southern Utah Women’s Network (SUUWN). This year we have created a SUUWN Canvas shell as a platform for disseminating resources, updates, recordings of professional development sessions, and upcoming events. We are delighted to inform you that we have over 140 members. Our professional development sessions topics range from workplace to physical health. 


Board Nominations

It's that time again! Nominations for the 2020-2021 SUUWN Board are now open and will continue through March 9. All nominees will be contacted to verify that they are willing to serve.  Following acceptance of the nomination, voting will begin. Election results will be announced in April.

SUUWN Student Feature

Sabrina KimAfter attending GE Aviation’s Annual Female Leadership Summit, Sabrina Kim, a junior in Southern Utah University's Mechanical Engineering program, recently accepted an internship with GE Aviation. This summer Kim will be working with the GE Aviation team studying aerodynamics and thermodynamics. 

“Sabrina has superior skills in doing analytical and experimental work,” said Dr. Ali Siahpush, associate professor of engineering and SUUWN social and welcoming committee chair. “As a person, she is well balanced, intelligent, and self-disciplined. She is mentally and physically tough, and she sets the pace and expectations for other colleagues and raises the standards.”

Join Dr. John Belk, Dr. Shalini Kesar, and Dr. Schvalla Rivera for a panel discussion on creating a culture of support and mentorship. The panel will be held Wednesday, February 12 at 4:00 p.m. in the Shooting Star Room of the Hunter Conference Center. 
  
Celebrate International Women’s Day with SUUWN
March 6 | 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. | Southwest Technical College
Join SUUWN and STECH to celebrate International Women’s Day. International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality. This year’s theme, #EachforEqual, represents that Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world.

The SUUWN will work to create an educational, professional, and political climate in which women’s voices and values, in all their diversity and richness, are heard and included in an effort to shape the institutional and public agenda of higher education, as well as leadership roles for women at SUU.
