Application Deadlines

Admission decisions are made on a continuous, rolling basis. As you prepare your application submission, please plan sufficient time to complete the MBA Preparation courses prior to registration. While the MBA Preparation courses do not need to be completed prior to admission, they must be completed prior to course registration.

Complete a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution prior to matriculation.

Submit official transcripts from each college or university attended. Official transcripts must be submitted directly from each prior institution to SUU. Applicants who have graduated from Southern Utah University do not need to submit a transcript.

Submit a professional resume that includes employment history, academic accomplishments and highlights managerial and leadership experience.

Submit a one-page letter describing your goals and expectations in pursuing an MBA degree from Southern Utah University and why you would be a valuable addition to the program.

Submit contact information for three (3) academic or professional references as part of the online application. Students who have earned a business degree from SUU in the last three years may waive the letters of recommendation requirement.

Official GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examination) test scores are required for admission.

The GMAT/GRE requirement may be waived for applicants who demonstrate sufficient academic achievement (with at least a minimum GPA of 3.3) or who have significant managerial or professional experience (generally at least 3 to 7 years). To be considered for a GMAT/GRE requirement waiver, please submit a one-page letter addressed to the MBA Admissions Committee explaining why you should be considered for admission into the program without taking the exam. Specifically describe your quantitative capabilities, leadership and managerial experience, and the scope of your responsibilities (e.g. number of people supervised, professional achievements, influence in the organization, etc.). The admissions committee will take into account the complete application and will make the final decision if a GMAT/GRE waiver will be granted.

To help ensure academic success in the MBA program, all candidates must demonstrate a basic level of business proficiency through four required online MBA Preparation courses. The MBA Admissions Committee may waive a specific MBA Preparation course if the applicant has successfully completed a similar course within the prior year. Please contact the Graduate Admissions Coordinator, Stephanie Greenhalgh, at to request a waiver.

The MBA Preparation courses do not need to be completed prior to admission, but they must be completed prior to course registration. Once an applicant is admitted into the program, they will be provided with a link and instructions on how to get started. Applicants must pass the midterm (if offered) and final exams of each course with a score of 80% or better. Each exam may be taken up to three times and you can skip directly to the exams if desired.
