Beginner Group Mandolin

Learn how to play the mandolin, a stringed instrument that’s plucked with a plectrum, in this beginner group class. Instruction includes chop rhythm and picking techniques, chords, runs, simple leads and repertoire.

*Participants need to be prepared to bring their own mandolin, mandolin strap, mandolin picks, extra set of strings (medium or light gauge), and tuner (electronic clip-on such as Snark brand).

This eight-week class meets Wednesdays from 8:00-9:00 pm. Class will not be held on October 9. Registration deadline is September 3.

Instructor Bio

Dave Hunt has over 30 years of experience teaching guitar, mandolin, and fiddle. He has taught in both higher education and high school students. Dave is a past Utah State Instrument Champion in guitar, fiddle, and mandolin.
