Beginner Mountain Biking

Have you been missing out on riding the new mountain bike trails in Cedar City? Come learn the basics of mountain biking in this fun new class. Get a lesson on the fundamentals of the sport including, on-the-bike skills, maintenance, and safety. You can bring your own equipment, or rent it from Cedar Sports to ride on trail after the skills and maintenance lesson. A functioning mountain bike specific bike, helmet, drinking water, and proper clothing are required to ride. Spots are limited! Get yours before it’s gone.

This 2-day course meets Friday, June 7 from 7:00pm - 8:00pm at Cedar Sports for a safety lesson and check. Class then meets again on Saturday, June 8 from 8:00-12:00 pm at South View Trail System for a mountain biking adventure. Trail location subject to change. Registration deadline is June 4.

For an additional fee, mountain bike rentals are available through Cedar Sports. For help with rental bike sizing, contact David Whitmore at (435) 586-5651.

Instructor Bio
David Whitmore is an outdoor enthusiast and the owner of Cedar Sports, Cedar City’s outdoor gear and rental shop. He has worked as an outdoor instructor and guide since 2010 as a ski instructor and trainer, outdoor adventure leader, and river guide. David earned a degree in outdoor recreation from Southern Utah University and is certified in wilderness first aid, first aid, CPR, and completed the Paragon Guides’ rock climbing, mountain biking, and canyoneering certification courses.
