Support the campus HOPE Pantry

About the Pantry

The SUU HOPE (Helping Our People Eat) Pantry is one of the first campus pantries in the country. It began operating in the spring of 2002 and continues to provide students with essential food and non-food items.

During the 2017-18 school year, research conducted on campus found that 49 percent of students indicated they experienced food insecurity, either inadequate in quantity or nutritionally incomplete, during the school year.

Since the fall of 2019, the HOPE Pantry has seen Pantry use increase by over 400 percent. In a typical week, the Pantry serves 100-150 students. Each student served is provided with $40 to $50 worth of food and supplies.
