Below are some of the regular events the Math Department and its students are involved in.

State Math Contest

The State Math Contest is for area students grades 7-12. It takes place at SUU each spring.

Utah Conference on Undergraduate Research
The Utah Conference on Undergraduate Research brings undergraduates statewide together to present research from diverse fields of study. The annual conference takes place in the spring.

Research Symposium

The College of Science and Engineering Research Symposium is a yearly showcase of SUU's College of Science and Engineering student and faculty research. The Symposium takes place in November.

Math Club Meetings
SUU has an active Math Club, comprised of students from varying majors and math abilities. Please contact Dr. Gretchen Rimmasch for more information.

Algebra Bee
The SUU Math Club hosts an annual Algebra Bee in the fall. All students are welcome to this fun-filled contest testing intermediate and college algebra skills.

Calculus Bee
The SUU Math Club hosts an annual Calculus Bee in the spring. All students are welcome to participate in this fun-filled contest testing calculus skills.

Southern Utah Science and Engineering Fair

The annual Southern Utah Science and Engineering Fair for students in grades 5-12 is held in the spring. Undergraduate student volunteers help with the judging.

Free Math Tutoring for SUU Students
Peer tutoring in many subjects is available at no charge to SUU students at the Student Success Tutoring & Study Lab in ELC 204.

Science and Engineering Seminars
The Center for Applied Research and Advanced Technology (CARAT) has monthly seminars on varied topics in science and engineering. All are welcome to attend.

Homecoming Parade
Each fall, look for and cheer for the math students and faculty, wearing their awesome math t-shirts.
