Admissions Update: Competitive Admissions
The Department of Nursing admits 30 pre-licensure students fall and spring semesters. This is a competitive admission based on: Cumulative GPA, Required Support Course GPA, Work/School History, Essay, ATI TEAS score, and References. LPN's will apply with the Pre-licensure students and will be evaluated on the same criteria. Application deadline for Fall 2017 is February 10, 2017. Applicants will be notified by mail in late March of the Admissions and Advancement Committee's decision. Application deadline for Spring 2018 is September 8, 2017. Applicants will be notified by mail in late October of the Admissions and Advancement Committee’s decision. All decisions by the committee are final and may not be appealed.
ATI TEAS test Dates for Fall 2017 applicants! All tests will be proctored in SC 301 - 28 testers maximum per test date, on a first come-first serve basis; Tuesday, November 29, 2016 – 12:00 PM; Monday, December 19, 2016 – 10:00 AM; Tuesday, January 3, 2017 – 10:30 AM; Friday, February 3, 2017 - 9:30 AM. This is a 3 hour and 45 minute, four-option multiple-choice test with 170 total questions. Please come prepared for this length of time.
Register for the TEAS exam at www.atitesting.com, select the “Register for Teas” option and follow prompts to test at SUU on your desired day and time. The cost of the ATI TEAS® exam is $66.00 (subject to change), payable at the time of the on-line registration. Please bring your ATI user name and password to your registered test date.
RN to BSN Admissions
RN to BSN applications need to be submitted to the Department of Nursing ON or BEFORE December 9, 2016, for first consideration for a May 2017 position, (we will continue to accept applications through April 10th, or until class is filled). Applicants are notified of the committees' decision by mail mid to late March.
