About Darin Gifford

Darin Gifford will be presenting "The Games We Play and the Science Behind Them!" as the keynote address at the 10th Annual WMG COSE Research Symposium.

From an early age, Darin has always had a love for computers and programming. When he was 16, he won a scholarship to SUU for a computer he built from scratch.

In 1986, he served an LDS mission in Okayama, Japan.

In 1994, Darin graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.

For the past 28 years, he has worked in the gaming and amusement industries, specializing in software design, development, and integration. Darin has worked for several Japanese companies, including Sega. During that time, he lived in Japan and worked side by side with Sega Engineers developing gaming machines for the American and European markets.

Darin has also played a significant role in several startup companies and has developed several gaming platforms from the ground up. He also developed several arcade games that have been placed in Chuck-E-Cheeses' and other arcades around the country. Darin loves both software and hardware.

Currently, Darin is the Chief Technology Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Board member for Casino Game Maker, a Class III gaming company located here in Cedar City. Casino Game Maker has customers all over the world, particularly in the Asian markets.

Darin also sits on the advisory board for the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at SUU.

Darin is married to Becky Gifford and they have 5 kids (4 girls and 1 boy). They live in Cedar City and love it!
