Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah: Join the SUU Wind Symphony in their harmonious "Escapade," a Music Masterworks Concert, on Friday, April 19, 2013. Scheduled at 7:30pm at the Heritage Center Theater, the diverse programming showcases the progress and accomplishments of this ensemble over the academic year. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for SUU Faculty & Staff and $4 for youth. Admission is free for SUU Students with a valid student ID.

Under the direction of Dr. Adam Lambert, the SUU Wind Symphony performs the energetic “Escapade” by Joseph T. Spaniola. The program also includes the relatively new composition, “A Prayer for Higashi Nihon,” a James Barnes piece which was commissioned by the Zushi High School in Kangawa, Japan. Other works of interest are Frank Ticheli's “Rest” and "Sonoran Desert Holiday" by Ron Nelson.

Dr. Adam Lambert is currently in his first year in the Department of Music faculty as Director of Bands and Brass Studies at Southern Utah University. For the past seven years, he has directed the band and brass programs at Chadron State College in Nebraska, where he conducted the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and Athletic Bands and coordinated the brass studio. He was the director of bands at Provo High School in Provo, Utah, from 1997 to 2002, and was awarded a Teaching Fellowship at UNT from 2002 to 2005.  He holds degrees in music education from Brigham Young University and a doctorate in trumpet performance from the University of North Texas (UNT). Dr. Lambert has given clinics and guest-conducted at many events, colleges, and universities throughout the western and Midwestern United States.   As an active trumpet educator, performer, and clinician in both classical and jazz, Adam performed and recorded with the University of North Texas Wind Symphony on the series Teaching Music through Performance. Furthermore, he has performed as a professional jazz musician at many major jazz festivals, including the Snow Bird Jazz Festival, the Park City Jazz Festival, and the Salt Lake City Jazz Festival. As a trumpet soloist and an active member of the Nebraska Arts Council, he has given performances at many colleges and universities throughout the Midwest, including the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Wayne State College, the University of Wyoming, Northwest College, and Colorado State University.
