Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah: A gifted alumnus of SUU’s graphic design program returns to provide an insightful overview of his art and adapting his skills to the professional marketplace as part of the Department of Art and Design’s weekly lecture series Art Insights. Daniel Gill showcases his own art as well as discussing his graphic design career for a major technology firm. Gill’s presentation is scheduled for Thursday, January 16, 2014. The lecture begins at 7pm in the Sterling Church Auditorium in the Sharwan Smith Center. Admission is free and the general public is encouraged to attend.

After graduating from Southern Utah University’s Graphic Design program, Daniel Gill was immediately hired by the Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri), the innovative software company based in Redlands, California. At Esri, Gill does extensive illustration work for technical and editorial materials, and does icon design for web, mobile and desktop applications. In addition, he does print and layout design, motion graphics and apparel and promotional item design as well as tradeshow and conference booth graphics. His expertise has also allowed him to design digital signage, front-end web work and presentations for sales and keynote talks. In his spare time, Gill uses his talents to create his own art in his relaxed California surroundings.
