B.S., 1977 Southern Utah University, Industrial Technology Building Construction
After graduation from college I opened a general contracting company which also includes a cabinet and millwork operation. I have been in the building trades for 20 years and have enjoyed working with concrete, rough framing, finish carpentry and carpentry.
Through the years, I have been associated with many qualified craftsperson in the construction industry that have taught and helped me learn the industry. It's fulfilling to meet with a customer and help them design the custom home of their dreams, and then make that dream come true as the home is constructed.
It has been my privilege to participate in classes that have prepared me to become certified by the International Conference of Building Officials in the areas of building construction, plumbing, electrical and mechanical. This allows me to hold a certification of building inspector in the state of Utah.
I enjoy people, especially my family. My wife Carol and our children have fun performing blue grass music. Music is a big part of our lives. We also enjoy camping, hunting, fishing and running a small farm. I do volunteer work with the Boy Scouts of America, which gives me a chance to camp and share scout craft skills with young men.
I have lived in Cedar City all of my life and feel we have a wonderful school and good programs to assist students in their career goals for gainful employment.
