Master of Interdisciplinary Studies

Director's Welcome

Cynthia Kimball Davis

Welcome to Southern Utah University's Master of Interdisciplinary Studies (MIS) degree! We appreciate you taking the time to learn more about our program.

We launched our MIS degree in the spring of 2018 and since then have been ranked 3rd best online master of interdisciplinary studies degree in the nation by Best College Reviews! Additionally, SUU was selected to host the international Association for Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) Conference in fall 2021!

We have students that come from all walks of life. Some come right from their undergraduate studies, from the workplace, transfer in and bring their graduate credits with them, others come after being away from college for over 10+ years or more, and many come from other countries; essentially, we get students of all ages and kinds. Each has a different goal in mind. Some want to land employment, others want to move-up in their current career, some want to go back to their city, state or country to make a difference, and still others want to continue on to further graduate studies.

The best part about our degree is that you don't have to be siloed in one discipline (i.e., you can choose two of your favorites). Whatever disciplines you want to study, we likely have them. Take a look at our program!

Furthermore, you can choose your final capstone to be either an internship, project or thesis.

Also, if your GPA's lower than a 3.0, please still apply. We want to make sure we review every applicant and if we can provide you an opportunity to learn with us, then we'll see if we can't admit you provisionally.

Continue to peruse our site. You can also contact Jonathan Roberts, our MIS Recruiter, at (435) 865-8671, or jonathanroberts1@suu.edu.

We look forward to speaking to you and, if it is a fit, assisting you in applying to our MIS degree. In the meantime, keep doing great things! :)
