This certificate will prepare students for an entry level job in the aviation industry and is the first step toward gaining an Airframe and Powerplant license. Students will gain a basic knowledge of various aircraft systems, aircraft repair, and inspection.

Aviation Maintenance Training Generals Certificate Program Course Work

This certificate program includes multiple assignments, quizzes, projects and tests per course.

Courses required to earn this certificate:

  1. AMTG1100: Mathematics; Physics for Aviation; Aircraft Drawings; Weight and Balance; Regulations, Maintenance Forms, Records, and Publications.
  2. AMTG1200: Ground Operations and Servicing; Cleaning and Corrosion Control; Human Factors.
  3. AMTG1300: Aircraft Materials, Hardware, & Processes; Inspection Concepts and Techniques.
  4. AMTG1400: Fundamentals of Electricity and Electronics; Fluid Lines and Fittings.

Expected learning outcomes for certificate include:

  • Complete weight balance projects, including log book entries.
  • Gain real world human factors concepts to take into the workplace.
  • Gain hands-on experience in inspecting aircraft and learning the various hardware and materials used in aerospace.
  • Use the state-of-the-art Nida electrical training simulators to troubleshoot real world electrical issues and learn basic aircraft electricity.
