Online and Remote Teaching Foundations

Teaching in an online or hybrid environment is a different experience compared to teaching face-to-face in a classroom. Just as teaching face-to-face is an art that must be practiced, so is teaching in an online or hybrid environment. During this course, we will be looking at ways K-12 instructors can organize resources, design high-quality courses and activities, and ensure that students are interacting with the content, each other and their teacher.
The key to this course will be to apply the concepts being discussed to your current classroom situations to help your students, and you, have a successful year. You should plan to spend eight to 10 hours per week reviewing articles, evaluating tools, and participating in activities.
Each week you will have opportunities on Monday and Thursday to meet with the instructor and special guests to discuss various topics with online and hybrid teaching. These are optional sessions that will be presented through Zoom. Each session will give you time to discuss concepts and topics being covered during the week.
The Online & Remote Teaching Foundations certificate starts May 16, 2022. Registration will close on May 16, 2022.
