Christmas in London

December 8-14, 2019

In less than 80 days, our SUU Community on the Go Group will descend upon London to celebrate the Christmas Season...British Style! Your trip leaders have planned a magical adventure filled with the sights, sounds, and sensations of this most iconic and historic World City! Whether you fancy Charles Dickens' tales of the Season set amongst a Victorian London backdrop, or hope to catch a glimpse of Old Father Christmas spreading festive cheer amongst the teeming masses, you're bound to create Holiday memories to cherish for a lifetime! We will visit some of the most recognized sites in Western Civilization as we tour the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, and visit Christohper Wren's St. Paul's Cathedral. We will explore some of the top museums in the world while also shopping seasonal markets and well known shopping districts. We will meander down Regents Street and see Christmas lights that will thrill your visual senses. You'll have a chance to enjoy a traditional Christmas meal in one of the most famous churches in Central London. We'll see a top performance on the Westend, experience a John Rudder Christmas concert in Royal Albert Hall, and perhaps don a pair of skates for a few laps around one of London's ice rinks. While visiting the ancient city of Oxford, you'll see beautiful Christmas trees on display in centuries old buildings, and perhaps run into the ghosts of J.R.R.Tolkien or C.S. Lewis as you explore Oxford's yuletide atmosphere. And don't forget the seasonal winter carnivals that are a fixture of Christmastime in jolly ole- England! On behalf of your trip leaders, we are so looking forward to welcoming you to our favorite city at our favorite time of year! See you "soon" in London!
