SUMA At Home SUMA At Home

Dear Friends,Jessica Farling, director, curator, socially distant

We are pleased to announce that Southern Utah Museum of Art is reopen to the public! Thanks to those that completed our online survey from last month’s newsletter, and with direction from the state and CDC, we have implemented some safety measures with our staff and in the gallery to do our part to keep everyone safe. We hope that the museum can offer an artful retreat during these uncertain times, and we look forward to sharing the 2020 Senior BFA Exhibition with you since the museum closed just days after the show opened to the public.
As you plan a visit to the museum, please consider the following:
  • Stay home if you, or someone in your household, is sick
  • Maintain 6 feet between yourself and other visitors, as well as SUMA staff
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue or your elbow
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth

For our visitors that are over the age of 65 or have underlying medical conditions, please know that SUMA will be opening early from 10-11 a.m. just for you! The museum will be open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the general public. In addition, SUMA’s public programs are canceled for the month of June, but we hope that you will join us virtually for Family Day and Create Playdate by following us on Facebook or using the links below.

If you would like more information about our phased plan, please visit our website. You can also read the full press release about the museum’s reopening here. Lastly, do not hesitate to contact me directly with questions or concerns regarding our plans to welcome back the public.
Stay well,
Jessica Kinsey
