Call for Art

The following opportunities to submit artwork to be shown at SUMA are open. 

There are no open calls for art at this time. 

Submission Requirements

Please refer to the following documents on how to prepare your artwork for display. All artwork submitted must meet these requirements to be eligible for display. If you have any questions regarding the requirements, please contact sumacollections@suu.edu 

 Ready to Hang Requirements

When you come to SUMA to submit your artwork, you will be asked to fill out a submission form. The submission form will outline important dates and information regarding the exhibition and artwork pick up. Also on the submission form, you will need to provide the title, date, medium, framed dimensions of your artwork, and an artist statement.
The artist statement must be between 50-100 words. When writing an artist statement, you can discuss in general what motivates you to do art, your beliefs/ideas in regards to art, etc. Or you can specifically talk about the work you are submitting and what the ideas were behind it, and in this case, how it relates to the exhibit theme of "Monarch Migration". You can also do a combination of the two. If you need help knowing what to include in your statement, this website provides some great advice on how to get started.
