About Us
The Q Center is here for the benefit of LGBTQ+ students so they can feel affirmed, welcomed, and respected on campus. It also aims to provide resources, education and academic support to the LGBTQ+ community and allies to guide a direction of community and queer joy to help overcome struggles and that help is available.
Our Mission
The Q Center aims to educate, advocate, and empower students of Southern Utah University, in hopes of creating and fostering an inclusive and safe environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals and their intersectional, diverse identities to grow and thrive in our higher education institutions.
Our Vision
We envision that through the Q center, SUU’s campus will be an institution where LGBTQIA+ individuals are thriving as valued members of our institution, and that through leadership programs and work opportunities, will continue to thrive after completing a higher education program.

- Collaboration: We thrive in communities that offer diverse perspectives and use that collective knowledge to further our mission and purpose.
- Allyship: We welcome all individuals that seek to stand in solidarity, advocate, and educate themselves/ others.
- Advocacy: We strive as a center to advocate for all within the center to ensure that our campus reaches equitable outcomes for students in the present and future.
