Plants on your Public Lands

Learn about Utah’s amazing native plants and the scenic public lands on which they grow. This course will lead participants through the identification and biology of common wildflowers, the mechanics of keeping a scientific field journals and an introduction to field restoration on lands affected by the 2017 Brian Head fire. This course is suitable for ages 12 and up, and includes field trips, short hikes and chance encounters with bees and other pollinators in scenic environments.

Jacqualine Grant brings her diverse research background as an assistant professor of biology at Southern Utah University to SUU Community Education. She is also the Director of the Garth and Jerri Frehner Museum of Natural History, and collaborates with the Southern Utah Museum of Art to bring educational programs to K-12 students in Iron County.
