Southern Utah’s Magnificent Forests

Course participants will learn tree and shrub identification within many forest types in Southern Utah in a combination of in class activities and field trips. Two hikes up to two miles each on developed hiking trails are included.

Students will need sturdy hiking shoes, clothing suited to unexpected rainstorms, sunscreen protection, water, and light snack food on each field trip.

William Branham earned a Master’s of Forestry from the University of California-Berkeley and spent his career working for the United States Forest Service, and more recently as the Utah Prairie Dog Recovery Coordinator for SUU Regional Services.
