About NSEE Foundation Documents

NSEE Principles of Ethical & Effective Practice for Experiential Educators - Workshop participants will also examine two NSEE foundation documents, The Guiding Principles of Ethical Practice and Principles of Effective Practice in Experiential Education. The goal is to develop a deep understanding of these principles through both a theoretical examination of the contents and a hands-on experiential component where participants will be given an opportunity to generate ideas specific to their own programs.

The Curriculum

To earn the EEA Certificate of Achievement, enrollees must complete a minimum of six Academy workshops, 5 of which must be from the following foundational workshops.

  • Assessment 101: Identifying, Understanding & Applying Outcomes Assessment in Experiential Learning
  • Fundamentals of Experiential Education
  • Legal Issues in Internships and Experiential Education
  • NSEE Principles of Ethical and Best Practice for Experiential Educators
  • Reflection: Making Experience Educative

Enrollees in the EEA must also complete at least one elective workshop, in addition to the foundation workshops. A partial list of elective workshops follows:
