Visitor Management - Zion National Park

Position Type: Fall/ Winter Internship, 1 position available

Wage: $11.68-12.74/hour, depending on education/ experience

Location: Zion National park

Description:

THIS INTERNSHIP IS BASED AT ZION NATIONAL PARK:

Schedule: 20-29 hours/week, 5-10 hours/day, 1-2 positions; weekends required; 10 week internship.

Help staff gather data to finalize Zion’s Visitor Use Management plan; Creates spreadsheets and graphs; Creates messaging for visitors; Assists in loading shuttle buses. Greets and orients park visitors to Zion, answers questions on natural and cultural resource significance, provides safety and regulatory information to visitors to ensure they have an enjoyable and safe visit. Hikes front country trails answering questions and taking visitor counts. Work will be conducted both outdoors and indoors

  3. enjoy working with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds.

Applicants that possess these skills and who are pursuing a degree in fields related to parks and recreation management, education, history, biological sciences, or cultural resources will be given strongest consideration.

ALL IIC INTERNSHIPS ARE REQUIRED TO BE TIED TO THE EARNING OF AN ACADEMIC CREDIT. Credits can be EDGE projects, departmental internships, cooperative education, practicums, assignments, research, etc.
